How often have you looked around your favorite coffee shop, where you regularly spend hours working, with curiosity about the people around you? What if among them is someone with whom you could have a very beneficial skill exchange? What if you could actually come together to form an economic community, creating your own coin and using it amongst yourselves to develop your own projects? What really stops us from doing this on our own? Perhaps only a lack of focus on this task, since technically all it takes is knowing how to use a MetaMask wallet. There aren’t that many such cafes in Tallinn, and it’s quite possible to arrange for them to award us a token for each coffee in addition to the usual stamps. Tokens, as a kind of identifier of belonging to a community of smart and enterprising people who work on their computers from wherever they fancy. I propose that we unite in this way to launch even more useful startups without the need for investments, which often bring more headaches than actual fulfillment of the mission statement that you are currently passionate about.
In the modern world, technologies are changing traditional business practices, offering new models of interaction both between companies and customers and within the business community itself. The use of Web3 technologies not only optimizes many processes but also makes a significant contribution to the development of the circular economy.
The main goal of the project is to create a sustainable ecosystem within the circular economy using Web3 technologies, allowing the potential of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies to strengthen social capital and stimulate economic interaction at the local level.
An example of implementing this model could be a loyalty project involving several coffee shops, where each purchase not only brings customer bonuses but also involves them in the token exchange economy. App users can accumulate tokens for purchases, participate in surveys from the coffee shop management, but most importantly—use the accumulated tokens to pay for goods and services among themselves, i.e., within the ecosystem.
Technological BaseThe foundation is blockchain technology. I recommend using Ethereum, as it is seeing significant development of UX-oriented platforms (like https://biconomy.io). ERC-20 standard tokens can be used as a means of internal network settlement. Initially, you can use the MetaMask wallet, available on mobile phones and allowing the import of custom tokens. As the project develops, you can create your own wallet, and then bring this to the level of an abstract platform, where similar tokens and adapted wallets can create any associations of people.
Social Capital: The platform fosters the strengthening of social ties through the ability to influence decision-making by coffee shops, enhancing the sense of community belonging and increasing loyalty to these businesses.
Circular Economy: The use of tokens as an internal currency for coffee shop customers promotes the reuse of resources, reduces the need for external investments, and enhances the development opportunities for innovations and small businesses. This happens organically, as it effectively activates dormant human capital by introducing a new currency independent of state and corporate politics, fulfilling the function of money.
The integration of Web3 technologies into consumer business opens up new prospects for the development and optimization of economic processes. Projects of this kind contribute not only to economic growth but also to social integration, forming active and sustainable communities, making them not only economically beneficial but also socially significant.
